The Apartments — DEVOUR Next Map: Frank, Brooklyn, 2027

Everything known about The Apartments, DEVOUR next map: possessed mob boss Frank, a Brooklyn housing block, dog minions, and a 2027 release estimate.

10/11/2026 v6.0.34 Last updated: 10/11/2026 3 min read

The Apartments will be DEVOUR’s eighth map and its first set in a big, modern city — Brooklyn, New York. The developers estimate release during 2027. This page gathers everything officially revealed so far.

Sources: official DEVOUR Steam news “The Apartments: Sneak Peek” (June 19 2026) and “The Apartments: New Concept Art” (October 6 2026).

The possessed: Frank

The antagonist is Frank, a local mob boss who has been recruiting lackeys into the cult — and has now been possessed by Azazel.

  • Frank fights with his fists, and the devs have focused on making his hands “uniquely grotesque” — expect a melee-focused demon up close, unlike the ranged or stalking behaviours of earlier maps.
  • His design and the map’s feel draw on Candyman (1992) and retro comic-book villains: confident, physical, theatrical.

The map

  • A rundown multi-story housing block with a variety of apartments, “each with its own personality”.
  • A ground-floor shop / café.
  • Outdoor areas around the block: alleys and a subway exit — a first for DEVOUR, which has been strictly interior or enclosed so far.
  • You might even spot a famous bridge in the distance.

The developers describe this as the first time they have explored DEVOUR’s horror “in the context of an everyday environment” — the oldest horror story of all, when the comfortably familiar holds dark secrets.

Minions: dogs

On October 6 the devs revealed the first minion concept for the map: a dog. DEVOUR has never put dogs in a map before (the coyote call at the start of The Farmhouse doesn’t count), and this one is “a pup you probably don’t want to play fetch with”. Expect fast, pack-style harassment in the alleys and stairwells.

Release timing

  • Official estimate: 2027.
  • A detailed, high-resolution floor plan of each section will be released to Supporter Edition owners shortly before the map launches — the layout shown in the dev posts is explicitly subject to change.
  • The merch store is on hiatus from July 1st 2026 and likely reopens around the map’s release — a rough production-milestone signal to watch.

Why this map matters

Every previous map has centred on one possessed cult member from The Watchers of Azazel — Frank continues that pattern, but moves it out of rural isolation and into a city. New map launches are DEVOUR’s biggest content moments: The Carnival’s launch (October 15 2025) drove the game’s largest search-traffic spike of last year. Expect a similar wave when The Apartments lands — we will cover the ritual, floor plan and collectibles here at launch.
