Possessed Cult Members — Every DEVOUR Demon by Map

Every DEVOUR map is built around one possessed member of The Watchers of Azazel — a cult devoted to raising the goat demon Azazel. The ritual always goes wrong: the summoner is possessed, and your team of former cult members must reverse the ritual and banish them.

The demons

Anna Puerta — The Farmhouse

Leader of The Watchers of Azazel since 2004. Anna became obsessed with summoning Azazel himself, spending two years testing rituals from ancient texts — and finally succeeded, with disastrous consequences. A former ballet dancer who “really likes telling people what to do”. She is the game’s launch demon and the face of DEVOUR.

Molly Jackson — The Asylum

After helping banish Azazel from Anna, Molly was committed to a secret psychiatric hospital, where barbaric shock treatments eroded her body and mind. Slowly, she began reassembling the summoning ritual she had witnessed — and trying again. She funded the cult’s robes with her college fund.

Zara Yamashita — The Inn

Hidden in caves beneath her family inn in Kinugawa, Japan, Zara discovered giant nesting spiders and offered them as blood sacrifices to raise Azazel. The ritual possessed her “in the cruellest of ways”.

Sam McCoul — The Town

Mercy, California is the cult’s birthplace: in 1852 James McKay uncovered the ritual words in a gold mine and accidentally summoned Azazel. 154 years later, washed-up actor Sam McCoul made a pilgrimage to harness the ritual himself.

Nathan Kasongo — The Slaughterhouse

Nathan returned to the Chicago slaughterhouse of his youth and used live pigs as sacrifices. The ritual left him with “a hunger that cannot be satisfied” as his body wastes away. The tallest of the possessed, at roughly 230 cm (7’6”).

April North — The Manor

After the sudden death of her fiancé, April remained at her abandoned wedding in Wiltshire, England — then sacrificed her own wedding guests, begging Azazel to open portals to the Realm of the Dead so she could search for her lover’s soul.

Kai Rewiti — The Carnival

A circus clown in Los Angeles who loathed the smiling children that reminded him of his own unhappy childhood in New Zealand. Kai lured teenagers to their deaths and used their gouged eyes in the summoning ritual. The Carnival released October 15 2025 — the game’s most recent map and last year’s biggest content moment.

Frank — The Apartments (upcoming)

A Brooklyn mob boss recruiting lackeys into the cult. Frank fights with his fists, his design inspired by Candyman (1992) and retro comic-book villains. See The Apartments for everything revealed so far.

The lore that ties them together
